The Chocolate Dipper opened in April of 1983 under the ownership of Jean Good. In 1987, Susan Shaw purchased the business and, in 1990, moved the shop to its curent location on South Main St. Susan was intimately involved with the operation of The Chocolate Dipper through most of 2003. In late 2003, Susan sold the shop to the Messick family. In April of 2006, current owner Tina Vanderpluym purchased the shop and is the shop's current owner-operator.
Over the years, The Chocolate Dipper has grown from a one-employee chocolate candy operation to a twelve-person multi-service confectionary shoppe. These days, The Chocolate Dipper is known as much for its extensive inventory of candy & cake supplies as it is for it's delicious handmade chocolates, decadently coated caramel apples and custom made-to-order chocolate novelties, decorated lollipops and cookies.
 The Chocolate Dipper specializes in the creation and sale of wonderful handmade chocolates with premium quality ingredients, including Guittard chocolate. Best sellers at the shoppe include The Chocolate Dipper's melt-in-your-mouth truffles and our sinfully decadent turtles. For the holidays, The Chocolate Dipper delivers the best the season has to offer.
